The Magical Illuminated Trail is Back …

This time as a WALK THRU experience at the Enchanting Verdala Palace in Buskett

 A magical after-dark adventure for all the family, with loads of new attractions.

 Join us between the 3rd December till the 9th January* at The Verdala Palace Buskett.

Following the success of the last year’s Magical Illuminated Trail Drive Thru edition, we are thrilled to announce that this year the event will be held as originally intended with
a majestic Walk Thru experience at the Magical Verdala Palace in Buskett.

A spectacular walk about journey through the walkways of one of Malta’s National Historic Gems, featuring hundreds of NEW larger than life lantern illuminated sculptures, Light Installations, Projections and much more.

 

Bring your family and your loved ones to see these fantastic glittering structures like the Huge Winged Dragon, the Midnight Express Train, the Arctic World, Candy Land and lots of other marvelous creatures.

Walk through the light tunnels, twinkling with thousands of fairy-lights and the mesmerising Palace gardens washed with colourful lights. The route will also include some incredible showstoppers, amazingly illuminated paths, irresistible selfie scenes as well as an impressive Projection on the Presidential Palace.

Given the event is all outdoors, we recommend you dress appropriately. We always recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes with good grip as well as a suitable jacket, and bringing along an umbrella just in case it rains a little bit.

The Illuminated Trail Malta is supported the Ministry for Tourism and Consumer Protection, The Malta Tourism Authority and Arts Council Malta. The event will once again be held in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

Once darkness sets in, the gardens will come to light and a controlled number of ticketed guests can then discover and enjoy the art of illumination and this magical festival of light in a safe and restricted manner.

Families, individuals, and groups may pre-purchase their entrance tickets online. The trail has been designed to allow only a few guests at regular scheduled intervals. The trail takes approximately about 50 to 70 minutes, depending on how many photos one takes.

Book your Tickets for only €8.50 for Children (3-16yrs)** & €15.00 for Adults (17+)

Time Slots are available starting from 17:20 with the last admission at 21:40

Your Online-ticket will be scanned on your arrival (Can be presented on your mobile or printed).

** Infants under 2 years of age are free of charge – but still require a ticket from the booking system.

***Due to current Covid-19 regulations, there will be no tickets available for sale at the door.

Note:  Entrance tickets are valid for their specific time and not transferable.


General Information

This event is being organized following the COVID-19 protocols currently in place by the Health Authorities. The maximum safety of the performers, staff members and our guests remains a top priority throughout.

For this reason, when booking tickets online at showshappening.com , guests will also be asked to confirm that they are in possession of a valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. The temperature will be checked upon entrance & and an approved vaccine certificate needs to be presented together with an Identification Document. Individuals who are 12 years and over need to have a valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. Children under 12 years of age can attend without a PCR Test if accompanied by a vaccinated parent/guardian.

To ensure the safest possible experience, a limited number of guests per time slot will be allowed to enter the venue

We kindly ask you to abide to the following rules while visiting the Magical Illuminated Trail:

  • Kindly respect your booking time. We suggest arriving 10 minutes earlier than your booking time.
  • No Smoking is allowed in any part of the Venue.
  • This is an outdoor event. We recommend you dress appropriately, wearing comfortable walking shoes with good grip as well as a suitable jacket, and bringing along an umbrella just in case it rains a little bit.
  • Event staff will always be wearing masks while maintaining social distancing from our guests.
  • Upon arrival to our site, we ask you to remain with your masks on while your ticket is being scanned and your temperature is checked.
  • Any information relevant to Contact tracing will be kept through our online booking system.
  • As per guidelines issued by local health Authorities, individuals with high-risk of Covid-19 transmission are not to attend the event. This includes symptomatic individuals, those with close contact of known cases of Covid-19, individuals under quarantine or those who have recently travelled from countries in the amber list.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel The Magical Illuminated Trail at Verdala Palace Gardens, you can transfer your ticket to a different date or receive a refund (excl. Booking Fee).

Under any other circumstances The Magical Illuminated Trail tickets are non-refundable.

If you would like to change the date you are attending The Magical Illuminated Trail, please email us at info@illuminatedtrailmalta.com at least 7 days before your event. We cannot change your tickets the week of your event. We are only able to offer one date change on your tickets – (you cannot change your ticket dates multiple times, please be certain of your plans if you request a date change.) Please, only send one email per request as multiple emails will delay our response time.

To avoid disappointment please book your tickets in advance – popular dates sell out fast. Unless the tickets for the particular day are sold out. Tickets can be bought on the day at the venue for an extra €2 per ticket IF they haven’t already sold out.

  • Adult (17+):        €15.00 + Booking Fee
  • Child (3-16):       €8.50 + Booking Fee
  • Infant (0-2):        FREE (but still require an Infant ticket)
  • If available tickets may be purchased at the door for an extra €2 per ticket

Upon completing your ticket purchase, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Your ticket(s) will be sent to you via e-mail to the e-mail address used to complete your purchase.

If you have are having issues locating your confirmation e-mail, please check your junk folder.

If you have not received your tickets – please check your junk mail. You can use our contact us page if you cannot find your tickets, please make sure to include as much information as possible, such as the Order Number, Name & Email Address used to book the tickets.

You will be able to buy tickets at our Box Office on the day IF the event is not sold out for an extra €2 per ticket.

If you have questions in relation to purchasing tickets or need support after you have purchased tickets, for example, changing the time/date of your tickets, refunds, lost tickets etc, please contact our dedicated customer service team who will be able to assist you. In the case of light rain, or occasional showers, the Trail will still open for the public. However, in the event of extremely bad or inclement weather on any of the night, such that the organisers will deem it extremely undesirable or un-safe, we will post notices on our social media as well as send an e-mail to ticket holder for that particular evening. Ticket holders will be offered the possibility to re-book their ticket for a future date.

On average, the trail will take 1 hour to complete, however depending on your walking pace and whether or not you stop for some photo opportunities or browse at some of the stalls on-site including food & drinks, this time period may be shorter or longer. The walking route is approximately 1km long and there are some gentle hills.

  • Gates Open: 17:20
  • Last Entry: 21:40
  • Event Close: 22:40
  • This is a NON-SMOKING Event. No Smoking is allowed in any part of the Venue.
  • “Child Ticket Holders” and “Infant Ticket Holders” need to always be accompanied by an “Adult Ticket Holder” who will be deemed responsible for guests under 17 years of age in his/her care.
  • Guests are required to only walk along the designated footpaths during the whole course of the Trail.

When booking tickets online you will be asked to confirm that ticket holders are in possession of a valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.

NO refunds will be given to those persons who are not allowed entry to the event because of this.
